This opponent had many solid attacks and they maintained a good star ratio for the first several hours. It looked like the war would be very close!
However, once again, it came down to attendance. Attendance, Attendance, Attendance.
Nice job Mates! We showed up again in very full force using 87 of 90 attacks! Meanwhile, the enemy had 6 members not attack at all, and several others who only attacked once.
One day, and I hope it is soon, we will meet an adversary that has their entire clan ready to war. When that day comes, it will not be enough for us to just have ‘Good Attendance’. We’ll need to continue to improve the success of our attacks to yield higher stars. In preparation for that day, please watch replays of great attacks AND bad attacks. You can learn so much from the successes and failures of others.
Here are some pointers:
- Drop your lure troop, followed immediately by a second lure troop, so that one of your troops remains alive long enough to FULLY draw out all the cc troops. If the enemy’s clan castle is positioned deep, you may need to drop a third troop immediately after the first two. The common mistake is to drop one troop and see what happens. Then another, single troop. Then another, then another. Time is slipping away, and, those troops in the Clan Castle are still not getting pulled out because the single troops are getting killed too quickly. If you drop in single file succession, you’ll get the full draw the first time.
o Note: You must drop them in succession instead of on top of one another because you do not want them to all hit a bomb or spring trap at the same time.
- Your ambush on the Lure troops should be big enough to Kill the enemy CC troops as quickly as possible. Too often, the assault is too conservative, and fails…. So then a few more troops are dropped, and they don’t get the job done. Then more troops have to be dropped. Again, time is ticking. Drop a sufficient quantity to get the job done immediately. Remember to circle the enemy if they have splash damage troops like wizards or dragons.
- Location, location, location. Once the full lure is drawn, choose a great ambush location to pull those cc troops to. The ideal location will consider all of the following:
o Out of range of defenses
o Relatively close to where the enemy troops were lured (once the CC troops are lured out, you don’t want them to then travel all the way across the map eating up time to get to the Ambush site)
o The location of the ambush is good for your leftover troops to be effective in the base assault. One reason why people get too conservative with ambush troops is because they become useless after the ambush. The perfect ambush is swift, and, the leftover ambush troops then have a role to play on the base assault afterwards.
You have plenty of time to plan a good Lure and Ambush. If you eliminate those clan castle defenders, your full base assault will be so much more successful.
Dragon Disclaimer: if you are planning a dragon raid, you probably do not need to Lure at all. It is probably desirable to have the dragons defend themselves and get pulled towards the clan castle troops, which can get the dragons moving towards the center. Also, the time that a Lure takes is considerably longer than the time it takes for dragons to roast those cc troops.
Great week Mates! Thank you for all your teamwork and effort! It continues to build our Victory #’s !!
