I would like us to improve our base designs for defense in clan wars. The principles are very different from regular multiplayer mode. In general, the idea is: protect TH and defenses, disregard loot.
The following pictures are meant to give an idea of how to design your base for War (and for War only). In the last war, the base below was attacked with a horde of 10 lvl 3 dragons with 3 lvl 5 rage spells and only lost 1 star (68%).

- TH in the center, along with Clan Castle and Barb King, along with hidden teslas and giant bombs and seeking air mines. This is meant to ensure that nobody can get 3 stars unless they use a truly awesome army to attack.
- Storages on the outside. Very few players do this, but I think it's a great idea. The storages soak up lots of hitpoints but you don't lose ANY LOOT in clan wars. So, set it up this way at the very end of Prep Day, then you can switch it back on Battle Day.
Next, let's take a look at the defense tower layout.
- In the inner circle, put the Wizard Tower, Mortar, and Air Defense. Arrange them in overlapping triangles to maximize the area coverage around your precious TH.
- In the outer circle, put the Archer Towers and Cannons in two overlapping pentagon shapes.
- Regular bombs and air mines can be sprinkled around the outside of the walls in a uniform manner.
Finally, what about the spring traps? These are perhaps the best trap tool for defense. Prudent placement can wipe out a massive horde of giants instantly.
