We had the advantage going into this one with an extra TH10 and BAYERN having 2 TH7s in their line up. These mismatches happen sometimes and each team just has to do their best. The war opened with a flurry of attacks on both sides, so we thought it might be close, but soon we noticed an odd trend the enemy was attacking far below what they needed to win. None of the first 13 attacks was higher then our 18, this fact is highlighted by the 2 star attack #1 (Kane) vs #18 (MCJiveMonkey) . Their attacks began to slow down and in typical Raze fashion, we just kept attacking. It was at the 1:30 hours mark when he hit a long string of 3 stars. The war was clearly going to be a blow out. It seems that after several weeks of near misses everything lined up and the 3 star attacks just kept coming. We saw GoVaHo, GiHeHo, GoHo, GoLaLoon and a slew of other attack forms all hitting perfectly. In the end we 3 starred 30 out of 35 bases, with several extra practice attacks also getting 3. Shout out to Olav, Mattable, Wonger, Superolly2000, MCJivemonkey for their perfect 6 stars.
The only negative point that leadership would like to point is their were 3 cases of Dib stealing. I urge you to check ClashCaller or ask in chat before doing this. In most cases I’m sure the dib holder would be willing to give it up especially in a war like this. Just think “do I want it done to me”? -Celebrintir Close doesnt even begin to describe this war. This war did not start off well for Raze by any stretch of the imagination. 6 out of our first 8 attacks were for one star. That is not the Raze way. Our first round of attacks must bring home more stars. The official policy is that first round attacks are supposed to be against bases in which a three star is VERY LIKELY. I understand when plans go wrong or something just doesnt happen the way you imaged and that throws off the end result. If you are someone that consistently fails to get a three star on your first attack, you need to aim lower. This war should not have been this close. We had 22 one star attacks this war out of the 70 attacks used. That's an embarrassingly high number against a clan that is not as strong as some of the others we have faced in the more recent past. We had 7 first time three stars on bases. That number needs to be a lot higher so we can figure out where to allocate our second round of attacks. We do not want to be in the position of being behind and putting more pressure on the cleanup attacks. Thanks to Cloud for putting together the graphs. These are some incredibly close findings which helps to highlight how close the war was throughout the entire duration of the war. Overall Stats
18 three star attacks, 13 two star attacks, 2 one star attacks, 2 bases left unconquered which gave us 190/200 clan xp. In addition to that, we managed 8 defensive victories. Most heroic attack goes to King Wittocx. Unfortunately supercell has once again erased the weekend recaps before anyone could record our best attacks. Most heroic defense goes to Super Olly 2000. Our six star attackers this week are: Mrs. Duke and Rebel Clan Business This week marks the first ever Raze Invitational. We are still tweaking the process. This week, if you finished in the top 15 of clash caller rankings or the top 15 of the leadership war contribution formula rankings, you are invited to take part in the Invitational. War search starts Tuesday Night after the Follow-Up war ends. In the future, the top 15 will be chosen based on the total combination of the clashcaller rankings and leadership rankings. Why do we do this? The leadership formula is weighted so that three star attacks on your first attack factor in heavily. This weekend, we had an embarrassing number of one star attacks. This represents an increasing and disturbing trend in our recent wars. Therefore, in order to help eliminate some of this, we are using first attack three stars as a significant contribution to the invitational ranking score. In addition, the official policy on the Follow-Up War (formerly known as the Monday War or Mid-Week War) attacks has changed. The details are at the bottom of the war strategy page but the short version is that we are treating the Follow-Up more like the weekend war. First round attacks need to be focused on getting three stars. Practice attacks require the user to have both heroes and to post the plan ahead of time. This helps cut out the "I think I would have done better if I was full strength" part of practice. As always, if you're a townhall 8 or one of the lower members of the clan, please do try to get your attacks in as early as possible. Doing so helps us know which bases need cleaned up so those cleanup attacks are not used chasing stars higher up in the war. Raze On! -Duke
Wow what a difference a week makes! This weekend was a nice change of pace. ClanKrieg came out hot putting up lots of stars but they only managed ONE SINGLE 3 STAR ATTACK in the first 19 hours of the war. Those results aren't going to win many wars and especially not against Raze Infinity. I would like to congratulate the entire clan on an awesome weekend. I really enjoyed watching so many quality attacks and for the 100% participation! Hopefully Cloud manages some free time soon to work on the graphs, until then you'll just have to image how awesome they will be. Overall Stats This was not a fun recap to write up. We knew from the beginning that the latest update held some sort of new matchmaking calculations to make heroes and walls count more. In a clan like ours, that's definitely concerning. NR out townhalled us 6 th10's to 4 and with two fewer th8's. Raze came out strong and held a lead for the first couple hours. Then things turned unpleasant. As always, a big thanks to Cloud for putting the graphs together. Overall Stats
7 three stars, 19 two stars, 8 one star, one base left undefeated for 145/200xp. This wasnt our finest showing. I was looking through the war log and I couldnt find another war where we scored a lower percentage of available stars. That being said, these guys had some amazing layouts and we still managed to get xp from every base except one. Most heroic attack was by 2. the duke 5 against either the enemy number 2 or 4. The replays are gone otherwise I would be able to tell you more. Most heroic defense (YEAH! we had one this time) goes to 24. Cloud. We also managed to win 7 attacks against this clan which isnt too shabby in my opinion. A big shout out to our only 6 star attacker this week: Addicted Steel! Clan Business We will continue with the GroupMe experiment since it seems to be an effective way of planning and evaluation. I know that GroupMe is not available in all parts of the world. If you would like a similar advantage, you're more than welcome to draw out your plans and one of the co-leaders can post it for the leadership group to evaluate. Its tough being so international sometimes lol. I know this weekend wasnt much fun but I am impressed with how we put a lot of effort into every attack and very nearly managed to get stars against all enemy bases. Supercell can talk about improving the matchmaking system and redoing the calculations but I honestly believe this was just a product of bad luck. The enemy had someone with max walls (we dont come close to that) and two people with max heroes (we definitely dont come close to having that) so its hard to say how much that weights have changed. I think we were doing for an extreme matchup. Try not to be discouraged. We still an amazing clan that I wouldnt trade for anything else! Raze On Duke "RazeInfinity no mercy for u" B # B Battle, led by Kaskader777, threw down the gauntlet during prep day. This despite the fact it looked like an unfair matchup with B # B bringing a th7 and 3 th6 to the field. I can only assume they brought these low bases to try to get an easier matchup. Unfortunately the plan backfired because these bases had no shot at contributing to the war and of course, they drew Raze in the matchup. They kept the stars close through the first two thirds of the war and Raze only began to pull away once cleanup and the top attacks took their toll. Overall stats 28 three stars, 7 two stars and no bases left unconquered. This was an excellent display of how Raze goes after every star on the map during war. Most heroic attack This week's most heroic attack goes to 2. JD against 1. kaskader777 and it was well deserved. JD went with his patented rocky smash to the face and brought home two stars on a max defense base. Most heroic defense Once again I am baffled that we dont have an official best defense. Raze had 6 defensive wins this weekend. Our bottom two bases soaked up 9 lost defenses which is exactly what we needed. We also had our top two bases bring home 2 defensive victories. Six star attackers 6 star nods go to Trase, Drew, Jim, Andy, Cyrus, Nick, and Lord. Clan business Please remember the upgrade guide on the website. I've also added a couple of videos to the newly created continuing clash education section so check those out as well. Raze on the Tube It always fun to watch the weekend recap instead of just reading about it. It's also nice to see Brohammed has finally picked out a cool intro scene for his videos! I was happy to see so many people do well this weekend. Moving forward, we are going to recruit a little more intensely than in the recent past. The leadership group has identified a few areas of need so we're going to try to fill those positions and keep Raze running on all cylinders. If you see a request and you're not absolutely certain of what to do, please leave it for leadership to decide.
Raze On! -Duke Congrats on another weekend of awesome attacks! My apologies for the late war recap. Its been an exceptionally busy week for me. It was lots of green bars on the war events tab for the first six hours. Then manado woke up but the score was never in serious jeopardy of favoring our enemy. I wasnt around for much of the war so the play-by-play this week isnt the greatest work I've done. I was pleased with how we performed against a quality opponent. One thing I've noticed the past couple of wars is how slow Raze starts. I would prefer that the clan go after those bases we are more confident in getting the three star against in the opening round so that the cleanup strategy can develop a little more clearly than it has in recent weeks. As always, a big thanks to Cloud for putting together the graphs this weekend. Overall Stats 24 three stars, 12 two stars, 3 one stars, one base left unconquered. I blame being disconnected on not being able to get that last base. It looked good from my end but the official replay stops about thirty seconds before the game kicked me out. We also managed to use 80/80 attacks! Most heroic attack deservedly goes to 2. Patricioso for his masterful attack on a max defenses base and the enemy's top base. Pat's army just ripped right through the northern teaser and kept rolling past the townhall to score a two star victory. Most heroic defense goes to 37. Sir Cyrus against 37. Hallel. Cyrus showed the enemy just how frustrating dragons can be especially in the hands of an amateur attacker. Overall we had 8 defensive victories. Our six star contributors this week are: Brohammed, Jon Fowler, bribri835, Mrs. Duke, and Nick. Moving forward I know we have a couple of members changing townhall level soon. I would like to remind our members that we have an upgrade guide on the war strategy page with suggestions for what to prioritize as you progress through the game. We also have a new link called "continuing clash education". From time to time we will try to post relevant update videos to the latest strategy ideas. I would like to remind the clan to not chase after the latest strategies just because they look exciting. We would like you to upgrade the army composition you normally use completely before pursuing other army compositions. If you rush around upgrading a few troops of each new army type, you're not making as powerful of an attack as you possibly could. The purpose of sharing the new strategies is to help those in the clan who have upgraded their army and done well in war after getting lots of practice with the army but for some reason or another are struggling or want to prepare for hitting harder targets as they level up a townhall. That's all I have this week. Remember as always to ask for help if you're struggling or just want to bounce ideas off of someone. Oh, upgrade heroes, upgrade walls, win wars, repeat next week! Raze On! -Duke After a couple of closer wars, it was nice to have an opponent to crush. From the beginning, we knew that this was going to be a nice matchup for us to take advantage of. Raze held significant advantages in things that we do best like hero upgrades and walls. The war got off to a little bit of a shaky start for us. We only managed 1 three star in our first 8 attacks and 2 in our first 13 but both of those belonged to the same person. Thanks for keeping us on track Jim! After that things seemed to settle down a bit more and Raze started hitting the threes we are accustomed to seeing. I will let the graphs below and the brohammed videos talk more about the war. It was refreshing to see so many of our members do really well on their attacks. As always, a big thanks to Cloud for putting these graphs together. I think they nicely illustrate how Raze executed its plan of attack throughout the entire war. One thing I notice from this week's graphs that I dont normally see is that on the bottom image, the yellow line is only above the green for one single base. We also almost managed to score three stars all the way up to the th10's. I havent seen graphs like these in a long time so congratulations on a job well done! Overall Stats 28 three stars, 12 two stars, 0 ONE STARS, 0 BASES LEFT UNCONQUERED!!! All of that brings home 420/420 clan xp! Wow! is all I can say. Our three star'd base numbers were back in the high twenties and non base escaped with less than 2 stars put up against it. The double xp bonus is really nice and I'm glad we were able to push up to 40 members to maximize the potential xp. Most heroic attack goes to... hold on... I'm trying to get the envelope open... It says "the Duke 5"... It's a little awkward writing about my own attacks but I'll give it a shot lol. It was a heavyweight matchup as our number one took on the Tyrantz number one base. I started with a lure because there's nothing more annoying to me than trying to deal with the cc while I'm taking fire from the infernos. It seems like every time I try the attack without a lure, the pekka and king all target the same skeleton and I'm quickly as defeated as that poor skeleton that was hit by all my pekka and the barb king at one time. As far as number one's go, firoz wasn't as fearsome as some of the other's Raze has faced. I only see a handful of lego's and the defensive towers were a mix of th9 max and first upgrade for th10. Luckily for me, the attack went off pretty much exactly as planned without needing to call any surprise audibles. Most heroic defense goes to no one. I'm not really sure how supercell calculates this result. Its frustrating to me to see "none" in this section more and more often for our wars. We did have 7 defensive victories so there were options to choose from. Sir Cyrus managed to soak up 5 attacks even though he lost every one. Lord Longstrouk soaked up four losses in addition to that. I think really those are the numbers that help us the most so congratulations. A special shoutout to our six star attackers this week: Avery, Jim, Xeton, Jon Fowler, RebelBinary, and the amazing wonderful can-do-no-wrong because she's awesome Mrs.Duke, (It never hurts to butter up the wife just in case I get in trouble later lol) Clan Business Brohammed/Lizpig was recently promoted to Co-Leader. He has been a big help in getting the multimedia put together each week. Its fun to watch our own members get some spotlight on youtube and I think it helps us reach a wider range of people when we go out to recruit members to the clan. In addition to this, Bro is an excellent resource for clash knowledge and we are glad he's decided to hang up his mercenary status to find a home with Raze. We also promoted Avery this weekend to elder. Avery has shown the attributes we value in an elder. He's friendly on the clan chat, helpful with planning raids or upgrades, and has a good eye for which people applying to the clan would fit with our group. Moving forward, as always, if you are a th8, we need you to get in your attacks as early as you can so we know wher the bottom of the lineup stands as we enter the cleanup phase of the war. I think we did a better job of doing that this weekend but its an issue that keeps coming up so lets continue to improve. One thing that's becoming an in issue is first target selection on clash caller. The leadership has noticed that a few of our members are repeatedly only obtaining one star on their opening attack. This suggests to us that the target is too high for that particular player. Ideally there would be some sort of self moderation in these circumstances but its not clear that any changes are being made. If this is a situation you find yourself in each week, we ask that you consider attacking a target that you are COMPLETELY confident you can three star. Raze on the Tube Brohammed has already put together a short video of some of our th10 attacks. I'm sure he's hard at work editing some of his usual videos highlighting our three star successes. Congrats again on 80/80 attacks used! Every attack has a chance to bring home valuable stars that help the entire clan so using both attacks is greatly appreciated! The big points for me are Upgrade your heroes and your walls, aim at an appropriate target, and ask for help if you have any doubts.
Raze On! -Duke This midweek war was exciting, kept most of us on the edge of our seats, and deserves a war recap. Congratulations to the midweek warriors for pulling together and getting the win! Special recognition to KingWittocx and Lizpig for bringing in two 3-star attacks each. Thank you for the consistent high level attacks that you bring to the table. Your attacks are fun to watch and definitely great learning tools for most of us. The war started slow for raze with the first 8 attacks only yielding 9 stars. The first 3-star attack came in on our 9th attack by Lord Longstrouk. The opposing clan took the lead and was in the lead for the most part of the war. And then, we came back to tie the score in the last couple of hours of the war. Gchivhicyufyi’s base soaked up a lot of their attacks and prevented the 3rd star. In the last few minutes of the war, Celebrentir performed an exceptional loonion raid against their #2 to give as the lead and bring home the win. Excellent work from everyone! Moving forward I would like to reiterate the importance of TH8s getting both attacks in early in the war. The earlier we handle the enemy’s TH8s, the better we can allocate our efforts elsewhere. Getting attacks early as a TH8 helps the clan more than you think it does. Keep up the excellent teamwork. Raze on! []jim 91[] |
